What We Do

The vitality of Elijah Kellogg Church is a direct result of its many volunteers. New ideas are always welcome!

Boards and Committees

  • Christian Education: A six-member board that supervises educational activities of the church, including Sunday school. Chair: Linda Clement

  • Deacons: A 10-member board, stewards of the spiritual well-being of the congregation. Chairs: Jim Croft, Connie Henry

  • Finance: A five-member board that oversees the financial health and budget of the church. Chair: Win Gillis

  • Missions: A six-member board responsible for the church's outreach work, both near and far. Chair: Kathy Goodrich

  • Trustees: A five-member board responsible for all church property. Chair: Doc Phillips  
  • Advisory: A board comprised of a representative from each church group, and officers, that coordinates and offers feedback on church activities. Chair: Ned Pierce
  • Music: A five-member committee responsible for the ministry of music. Chair: Louise Huntington
  • Hospitality: A six-member committee that arranges for refreshments. Chair: Susan Ferris

  • Flower: A six-member committee charged with providing floral decorations. Chair: Nancy Hurst 

  • Remembrance, greeting, nominating committees: directing memorial gifts, welcoming worshippers and recruiting volunteers. Chair:

Other Activities

  • Bible Study and Discussion Groups: See Newsletter for current schedule.

  • Men's Brown Bag Lunch: A monthly gathering for the men of the community, often enhanced with a guest speaker. Contact George Patterson. Second Tuesday of the month, noon.

  • Public Suppers: A monthly supper to support the church and many local service groups. Contact Dick Moseley.

  • Women's Bible Study: A seasonal, weekly study group for women interested in exploring the Bible. Contact Mary Wilson. Wednesdays, 9:30-10:30 a.m.

  • Women's Fellowship: A monthly gathering that includes a speaker, a brown bag lunch and a business meeting.  Women's Fellowship also supports activities like Nursery School Scholarships, the Tedford Shelter, the Food Bank, and Samaritan's Purse. Contact Ellie Patterson. First Tuesday of the month, 11am.
